if you cannot find an answer to your question.

A speech and language pathologist (SLP) is someone who can identify, evaluate, diagnose, and treat speech and language disorders. SLPs work on improving a person's speech intelligibility.

The main way to find out if your child needs speech therapy is through a pediatrician. Your child's pediatrician will assess your concerns and refer them to a Speech Pathologist, who will then evaluate your child and confirm the diagnosis.

Yes, if your child has not recently been evaluated by another licensed SLP - then an evaluation is necessary to form a proper plan of care.

Yes, we do. Please refer to our insurance page above to find out more.

Superbills are provided upon request. A Superbill will provide a detailed report of the services rendered so that the client can file it directly with their insurance provider for reimbursement. Please refer to your health insurance plan for specific reimbursement eligibility.

You will give us a call or email us to schedule for an evaluation. If you do not have a referral already sent to us, please be ready to provide us with the following information:

  • Your child's name
  • Date of Birth
  • Pediatrician's name
  • Front and Back of the insurance card
  • Main concerns

Please email this information at contact@southbayspeechclinic.com

Allow 1-2 business for us to get the insurance verification.

We do require our clients to fill out an intake form to get better insight into the issues your child is facing. Intake forms will be provided by our office manager via email.

Our evaluations are up to 1 hour long and treatment sessions are 45 minutes.

Our sessions are individualized, however - parents are always welcome to join the therapy room or wait in our waiting area.
